German Wasp
Vespula germanica

from €80

Slightly larger and more aggressive than the common wasp. Increasingly the dominant species across Cork.

How to identify

  • 13–20mm, brighter yellow with three black dots on the face
  • Often nests in wall cavities, attics and disused rodent burrows
  • Active later in the season — into October and November in mild years

Risk level

Will sting repeatedly with little provocation once the nest is established. Common cause of A&E visits in Munster summers.

Our treatment

Targeted dust and residual insecticide at the entrance. Often requires a return inspection due to satellite activity.
